Marketing and advertisement work — and pollute the discussion with misinformation and disinformation. Personally, I don’t believe that what keeps rich people rich and makes them richer at the expense of the rest of us serves the interests of the rest of us. But, in a nation of people conditioned throughout our whole lives to respond to commercials and TV and so on, how can honest, fact-based debate compete with corporate shills?
